Initially planned to be stopped in 2023, the unavailability of the quad instructor has accelerated the end of the activity. New nature activities will be developed on the paths that were used by the machines.
“Philippe, my husband, suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon at the beginning of the summer, and it was he who supervised the quad bike groups. It was difficult to find a qualified instructor at the height of the tourist season. For us, who wanted to stop the activity in 2023, this was the right opportunity to turn the page” confides Patricia, the manager of Loisirs Loire Valley.
Although quad biking is still in vogue among speed and mechanical enthusiasts, the nature leisure centre had decided to stop it in 2023 for environmental and safety reasons.
Indeed, the supervision of the driving of these motorised vehicles represented a certain number of risks and stress for the team (failure to respect safety instructions, signposting, dangerous behaviour). In addition, in order to generate less nuisance for the forest (noise pollution, exhaust fumes, tyre prints) and for visitors, the base wishes to offer a playground in which the fauna and flora can regain their rights.
“It was a leisure activity that was no longer in keeping with our values and the nature spirit of our base. The paths used will be calmer”.
Patricia Allouin-Ratton.
From now on, the treasure hunt, raccoon challenge and archery courses will only be used by pedestrians. A new activity is being prepared with an educational trail in the near future. And for those who love racing cars, a go-karting activity is proposed, located 30 minutes from the nature base.
